David's

Testimony

Twenty years ago I found myself sitting in prison. I was a victim of sin and had devoted my life to drugs and alcohol. I thought I was in control of my life; however, the sin of drugs and alcohol was very subtle. Before I knew it, I was out of control and only lived to satisfy my addiction in any way I could.

I lived in my own world.

But thanks be to God, He gave me another opportunity and a new beginning. Right then, behind prison walls, I surrendered myself before a powerful God. I believed the truth; I cried out to God like a baby. That very day, in God's presence, Jesus Christ became my Lord and Savior. This walk has not been easy, but God has been with me every step of the way. Before I was released, I made a decision that I would step through any door God opened. When released, I earned a BA from Southwest Texas State University and became a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in the State of Texas. God gave me a vision to open 18 homes in Austin for released offenders who have made a decision for Jesus Christ. Margie, my dear wife of over 30 years, and I are walking through this door that God has opened with the support of the Texas Reach Out Ministries Board of Directors and the many volunteers that God has called to help.

Now, all I want to do is serve God,

and give back to the community. I want to be a testimony that nothing is impossible with God. Margie and I are so thankful to God for His mercy and grace towards us.
