If you, or someone you love, is a current or former inmate who has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and would like help successfully integrating back into society, Texas Reach Out is here for you*.

We can provide you with a safe place to live as you rebuild your future, give you programs to assist in developing new healthy habits, and equip you with a mentor to guide you in further Christian development.

Application Process

Our application can be downloaded here or requested by contacting us by phone, mail, or the form below. The application should be filled out completely by the inmate (NOT by a family member, friend, or sponsor) and mailed back to Texas Reach Out.

Applications are reviewed twice a month by our volunteer Application Review Committee. After your application is reviewed, expect to receive a decision the following week. If you do not receive your decision within a month of returning the completed application, contact us and let us know!

If an individual is accepted into the program, they will be picked up at the Austin Greyhound Bus Station upon their release and brought to their designated Texas Reach Out Home. Immediate needs of food, clothing, and shelter will be provided. Participants will also be aided in obtaining an ID card, medical card, bus pass, and eventually employment.

Participants contribute $500 per month to stay at the home (includes all utilities and landline phone service). Each resident also contributes $30 per week to the grocery fund of his or her home. All homes are completely furnished, so you will not need to worry about providing furnishings.

*Note: Texas Reach Out is a drug and alcohol free program. You CANNOT be a part of the program is you fail a random drug test.

**We cannot accept any applicants who are convicted sexual offenders as many of our houses are near schools. We also cannot accept any applicants who are severely handicapped to the extent of not being able to work. Applications with mental disorders may be denied from the program if we feel that we do not have the means to properly care for these individuals.
