Texas Reach Out is a non-profit ministry that provides housing and spiritual development for Christian men and women reintegrating into society after exiting the criminal justice system.

We are committed to walking alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ as they work to rebuild their lives with Christ.

MISSION

Our mission is to provide alternative housing, a Christ-centered environment, discipleship, and spiritual guidance to men and women released from prison returning to the community.

VISION

We dream of, and are working towards, a community that fosters spiritual growth and freedom in Christ for those once imprisoned by sin.

VALUES

Faith

A strong faith is the foundation of our ministry. It is because of our faith in Jesus Christ that we serve Him through Texas Reach Out.

"Very truly I tell you, all who have faith in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." John 14:12

God's Vision

We pray that as this ministry grows, God's vision remains clear to our Board of Directors, to our workers, to our volunteers and mentors, and to our participants. Fluidity of God's vision throughout the ministry is key.

"So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven." Acts 26:19

Integrity

We believe in operating our ministry in a way that is above reproach. This demands transparency, accountability, and honesty.

"Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way." Hebrews 13:18

Community

We believe we would not be faithfully serving if we were not being considerate and serving our community.

"So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." Romans 12:5

Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, that He is fully human and fully divine. In the virgin birth, His sinless life, and His atoning death on the cross, He assumed the judgment due to sinners by dying in our place and in His bodily resurrection from the grave.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ ascended to the right hand of the Father, now rules as the head of His body, the Church, and will personally return in the power and glory for His Church.

  • We believe that the Church, composed of believers in Christ, proclaims the gospel of God’s redemption, nurtures Christians in the life of faith, and cares for the needy.

  • We believe that human beings in their natural state are lost and alienated from God.

  • We believe that reconciliation with God comes through personal faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ, and justification by grace is available to all who repent and put their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling presence and transforming power enables believers to live a life of obedient to the service to God.

  • We believe in the resurrection of both those who believe in Jesus Christ and those who are alienated from God. Those who believe have eternal life with Christ; those who are lost are separated forever from God.

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ.

Texas Reach Out is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization specializing in alternative housing for those released from prison and those who are homeless as a result of unsuccessful reintegration into society after an extended prison stay. We serve those who have made a serious commitment to change their life course and make a decision for Christ. Residents apply for housing through a written application process, and many are referred by prison chaplains, pastors, and lay ministers.
